MECHANISM OF WABRO®
MAINTENANCE-FREE SLIDING COMPONENTS
WABRO® – maintenance-free sliding components are self-lubricating Elements for medium to high strains and low friction verlocities. They are made out of a carrier material which is chosen depending on application. Solid lubricant is applied to the carrier material using various techniques. The solid lubricant is injected into the notches or drilling holes and is stored there.
This solid lubricant produces a continouos and stable film on both sliding surfaces and thus fills in the roughness depth of the materials surface. A sliding layer keeps the metal surfaces of both components from touching each other, preventing a "stick-slip-effect". During operation, the sliding film is continuously replenished by the lubricant coming out of the notches or drilling holes. Any occuring foreign matter can be sucked up by the lubricant pockets.
