Machining Processes

Bornebusch manufactures plain bearings and sliding elements according to your drawing, your sample or your technical specifications. Modern CNC machining allows us to produce geometries, bores, grooves, fits and other design features with precision.
Depending on the component and its requirements, the machining processes we use include:

• CNC turning

• Machining of grooves and bores
• Production of custom fits and contours
• Splitting of bushings, split plain bearings

The result is a ready-to-install plain bearing that can be used directly in its intended application.

Material Expertise

The choice of material is crucial for the load capacity, wear behavior and service life of a plain bearing.

Bornebusch has many years of experience with bronzes, gunmetal, brass and other non-ferrous metals. This allows material and machining to be matched to the later application right from the planning stage.

Various bronze alloys are suitable for highly loaded bearing points in particular. Which alloy is the right one depends on factors such as load, type of motion, temperature, ambient conditions and the intended lubrication.

WABRO® Sliding Elements

For applications with medium to high loads at low sliding speeds, Bornebusch offers self-lubricating, maintenance-free sliding elements with WABRO^®.
Solid lubricants are inserted into bores or grooves. During movement, the lubricant is released onto the sliding surface, where it forms a stable lubricating film.

WABRO^® sliding elements can also be machined ready for installation to customer specifications and are suitable for applications where regular relubrication is difficult or not desired, among others.

Quantities

Not every drawing automatically means series production. That is why Bornebusch manufactures both individual single parts and production runs of various sizes. Depending on the component, options include:

To process your inquiry, we first need your technical drawing or the key details of the component you require. The following information is particularly helpful:

1. Drawing or sample
   Send us your existing technical drawing, CAD data or a sample part.
2. Material
   If the desired material has already been specified, we can take it into account directly. Alternatively, we will work with you to determine suitable materials.
3. Dimensions and tolerances
   Inner and outer diameters, length, bores, grooves, fits and other relevant dimensions are manufactured according to your specifications.

Depending on geometry and material, plain bearings can be manufactured in sizes from 5 mm to 2,500 mm.

Can Bornebusch manufacture plain bearings based on an existing drawing?

Yes. Bornebusch manufactures plain bearings, sliding elements and other CNC components according to technical drawings, samples and individual customer specifications.

Can single plain bearings be manufactured as well?

Yes. In addition to small, medium and large series, we also produce single parts and spare parts.
